ITANAGAR, Apr 11: Mebo assembly constituency independent candidate Shoney Pertin on Thursday accused BJP MLA Lombo Tayeng of not disclosing his property while filing nomination papers and exercising undue influence to keep it secret.

Addressing media persons at Arunachal Press Club here on Thursday, Pertin claimed on the basis of a latter which seeks not to disclose ownership of a commercial property located at Banskota, near Pasighat in East Siang district.

Informing that he would lodge a complain with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Pertin said that the complaint was filed earlier about his ownership of a building which was not mentioned in his nomination papers filed with Mebo returning officer. But, the complaint was later dismissed due to lack of substantiating evidence, he said.

Expressing his strong resentment over the issues, he  said that details were also obtained through Right to Information, Act on April 10 last, which clearly mentions that Tayeng owns a commercial building spread in an area of 834 square meters.

A letter was also found in which Tayeng had appealed to the people not to believe any allegations made by his opponent candidate. But, text message regarding this sent to him was not responded. However, efforts to contact Tayeng for his comment went in vain as his mobile phone was not reachable.
