Lt. Gen Sanjeev saluted for his benevolent service to humanity

WAKRO, Apr 23: The Anu Shiksha Seva Trust (ASSET) saluted benevolent leadership of Lt Gen Sanjeev Chauha, who voluntarily shouldered the responsibility of educating two orphan girls, besides by reaching out to elders in need of care during a function here on Tuesday.

Wakro ADC A.J. Lungphi, who handed over cheques to three elders at Beena Ghose Roy Enclave in presence of host of dignitaries, lauded Indian Army for making such impact in rural Arunachal Pradesh and for its yeoman service rendered to the people.

The initiatives aimed at conveying gratitude towards Lt Gen Chauhan. The ASSET also lauded Bharat J Desai, Hitesh Parikh, Vivek K Deshpande, Dr Seema Rao, Indu Rao, Didar Singh and Nimish Sharma for their generous contributions to ASSET.

ASSET chairman-cum-managing trustee Rohinso Krisikro, in his address, said, “We feel proud and privileged to have known Lt Gen Chauhan, who was posted to the region few years ago. An epitome of selfless and affectionate care, the highly decorated military leader is not just engaged to boost soci-economic development of the state but has inspired many, especially youngsters, to follow suit.”

Army commanding officers and personnel leadership in the region remained extremely motivated during his tenure as the General Officer Commanding (GOC). This was evident when Commanding officer of a Field Regiment fondly remembered how the GOC had gifted his troop members to acknowledge their services to motivate them.

But his warmth beyond his troops was visible during Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, when Indian Army had deployed troops in many far flung areas to help the suffering victims. He had also helped to treat a community elder, a social worker. The community and ASSET members were deeply touched by his gesture. It had created a deep impact, thus one of ASSET initiatives, namely Sanjeev Prakalp, launched on 06.01.21, aims to help elders in need of care.  The initiative is named after Lt Gen Chauhan to honour him while it offers great relief to the needy elders. Interestingly, he has motivated youth Baling Ngadong of Anjaw also to offer selfless service to the society, according to an official release.
