Red Cross volunteers serve as beacon of hope: Guv

ITANAGAR, May 03:  The dedication, compassion, and selflessness of Red Cross volunteers has always inspired all to be devoted and live with greater empathy and compassion, said Governor Lt. General (Retd) KT Parnaik while interacting with Indian Red Cross Society Arunachal Pradesh State Branch representatives at Raj Bhavan here on Friday.

Parnaik, who is state president of the branch, urged the volunteers to continue to uphold the noble ideals of Red Cross and strive to create a world for kindness and solidarity to reign supreme. In the face of adversity, uncertainty and disaster, unwavering dedication of Red Cross volunteers serves as a beacon of hope and compassion, he said.

Whether it’s providing aid to victims of natural disasters, offering comfort to those experiencing personal crises or delivering lifesaving assistance to communities in need, selfless service of the volunteers embodies the very essence of humanity, he reasoned.

He advocated involvement of more youth in the organization, create awareness on first aid, natural disasters and its precautions, health and sanitation and importance of blood donation.

Earlier, joint secretary Adv. Tame Anuk briefed the governor about activities and initiatives of the state branch. State branch vice chairman Dr. Marli Ete and Marbom Gangkak were also present. (PRO)
