NPP allegation of booth capturing baseless: BJP

ITANAGAR, May 27: Rumgong assembly constituency BJP election agent Tayu Jerang lashed out at Siang district NPP unit allegation of capturing of Molom Dere and Yosing Dere polling stations (PSs) during general and assembly elections.

Allegations leveled by NPP polling agents do not have an iota of truth, Jerang told media persons at APC here on Monday.

Terming the demand for disqualification of BJP official candidate Talem Taboh as a motive to malign his name, he said that Taboh would never resort to such illegal activities being a genuine and down to earth person. “As an MLA he had served the people, who would definitely support him,” said Jerang.

Of total 453 voters of Molom PS, 399 have cast their votes. Thus, the question of booth capturing is baseless, he said.

The voting process was peaceful without any hindrance at Yosing Dere PS, claimed polling agent Habu Tali, adding it was NPP supporters who had blocked the road with trees and rocks to disturb movement of voters.

Responding to NPP’s charge that many development schemes have been halted, Tali said that MLA Taboh had initiated many new schemes and projects beside activating old and pending projects, many of which are in execution process.
