ITANAGAR, Nov 28: The Pay Back to Society Group (PBSG), an initiative of Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra, has been touring various parts of the state to interact with the youth to motivate them to join armed forces.
At Khonsa: Major K. Juja (of Rajput Regt), Flt Let Simon Doke (Navy) and Lt Mobia Hangu interacted with Khonsa GHSS students as resource persons in presence of special guest MLA Wanglin Lowangdong, Tirap DC P.N. Thungon, DDSE, GHSS principal, Khonsa, teachers and students.
Lowangdong said that “It is a matter of pride to see commissioned officers voluntarily contributions towards nation building and helping local youth to join the process.
Thungon highlighted the essence of PBSG, saying these officers are ambassadors to encourage youths to join defence forces to serve the nation.
At Tezu: Arunachalee commissioned officers Col Koj Tari, Lt Cdr Chow Ronie Chowpoo and Lt Z. Singpho (of 6 Jat Regiment) interacted with students of GHS School. Lohit DDSE M. Linggi also spoke.
At Aalo: Maj Gen Jarken Gamlin, Lt. Commander (Navy) Rige Bagra and Maj Nyajum Rida Jilen addressed hundreds of students of GHSS, Nehru Memorial HS School and NEFTU. West Siang DC Sweetika Sachan, DDSE and HoDS were present.
At Pangin: IAF group captain (Retd) Mohonto Panging, S. Commander Marak Pertin, Maj Ponung Doming and Capt Ligang Sera interacted with students of Pangin township area at GHSS here on Wednesday.
They guided about 400 students to inculcate sense of nationalism and instill in them virtues so as to become responsible citizens. They spoke on different aspects of their respective services including roles and responsibilities, eligibility criteria, benefits and entitlements, career progression etc.
They also shared stories about their personal struggle to achieve their respective careers, including overseas and other experiences.
