Skill training for street vendors conducted

PALIN, Nov 28: Kra Daadi DUDA conducted a workshop with support from urban street vendors (SUSV) and social mobilization & institution development (SM&ID) component of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (National Urban Livelihoods Mission – DAY-NULM) here for surveyed street vendors and SHGs registered under DUDA here on Tuesday.

DUDA member-secretary, in his presidential address, spoke in details about the activities of street vendors relating to food safety, maintenance of hygiene, waste disposals & use of biodegradable waste.

Palin CHC MO Dr. Gimi Tang, as resource person, informed as to how they should segregate organic and inorganic products, maintain hygiene in vending places.

SP Tam Talam spoke about traffic management and asked them to be conscious while vending, while Market Welfare Association chairman Jimi Senaiki, engineers Chakpu Raju and Kipa Karo also spoke.

In all 7 SHG members received revolving fund of Rs. 10,000 each and 82 registered street vendors were given one-day wage of Rs.300 each through public finance management system (PFMS) portal.
