Dozens voluntarily donate blood in APVBDO camp

ITANAGAR, Dec 30: Arunachal Pradesh Voluntary Blood Donation Organization (APVBDO) continuing it’s ‘Save life mission’ conducted a voluntary blood donation camp at RK Mission Hospital here.

Dozens of students, public, professional and political party workers voluntarily donated blood for the noble cause.

State BJP   vice president Tame Phassang, addressing the willing donors, urged all sections of people to donate blood voluntarily. He lauded APVBDO for its humanitarian service, saying: There is no greater endeavor in the world than donating blood voluntarily as it is a noble cause that helps someone somewhere to save of near and dear ones.

“We need to change our mindset as blood donation never causes any harm to our body rather it purifies blood and make us healthy,” he added.

Encouraging the APVBDO team not to be demoralized for less people coming forward voluntarily to such camps, Phassang said that this is not the end but to herald a blood donation revolution. It might take time but our people will understand the importance of blood donation, he said and assured all possible help to the organization. He also suggested APVBDO to reach out to various religious centers, like churches, temples, nyadar namlos and political parties to hold such camps.

Highlighting various benefits of blood donation, APVBDO chairman Ramesh Jeke said that the state needs at least 15,000 blood units annually but for which the demand continues to rise due to less number coming forward to donate blood. Thu, many precious lives have been lost, Jake lamented.

He made a fervent plea to the people, irrespective of cast, creed or religion, to come forward and donate blood to save lives.
