Recall PRC statement or face agitation: NESA

ITANAGAR, Dec 30: Strongly opposing granting of PRC to non-APST, Papum Pare district Nyishi Ethnic Students’ of Arunachal (NESA) unit has accused the GoAP of undermining the sentiments of state’s indigenous people and Nyishi community in particular by promising to granting PRC to non-APST people leaving in Namsai and Lohit districts.

Contrary to the work of elected leaders to focus on development and safeguard rights of the indigenous people, state’s BJP leaders are polluting the peaceful atmosphere by making such statements and assurance to non-APST people living in Arunachal, the NESA said in a release.

The Nyishi community of Papum pare district, the NESA unit in particular will not remain silent on this immature decisions of the GoAP, it said and alleged that Chief Minister Pema Khandu and DyCM Chowna Mein are selling rights of state’s indigenous people. “We demand apology from the duo for hurting the sentiments of all Arunachalees”.

If the decision is not taken back within this year, NESA may be forced to call democratic movements which would disturb state’s economic development.

The decisions to grant PRC to non-APST people may also force entire Nyishi community and Tani Clan to demand Autonomous Council, the release added.
