YINGKIONG, Jan 10: Seven new Kendriya Vidyalayas for Kurung Kumey, Dibang Valley, Namsai, Upper Subansiri, Anjaw, West Siang and Upper Siang districts at the initiative of state Govt have been sanctioned at his initiative of to give new thrust to education sector, Chief Minister Pema Khandu told a function in VKV premises in Ramsing village near here on Thursday.
While inspecting VKV building, he lauded the villagers for donating land freely for the school and appreciated work quality of building, being built at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore.
The school needs more infrastructure, like principal quarter, staff quarters, boundary wall, science lab, auditorium etc, he said and promised to sanction additional fund of Rs 8 crore within 2019-20 fiscal year. He urged the executing department to execute works on war footing to make it ready to start next academic session in new building. The school now runs at a temporary site. (CMO)
