AALO, Jan 10: The three-day training of district level master trainers (DLMTs) on different topics, as directed by Election Commission of India, begun here on Wednesday last to be conducted by India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management, ECI training wing.
The state level master trainers, who were trained in New Delhi during November- December last, will be imparting training to DLMTs on EVM-VVAPT, counting & declaration of results, nomination process, ERO net & polling station rationalization, polling party & poll day arrangements, model code of conduct, election expenditure monitoring & media, ETPBS & postal ballot, IT applications and election & security planning during training at Namsai for officers of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh and Itanagar for officers of Western Arunachal Pradesh.
State CEO Kaling Tayeng, in his inaugural address, said that the ECI has organised this training to ensure smooth polling process during General Elections 2019. Proper training is important for good and efficient management of elections, he said, and exhorted all to undergo training sincerely to ensure free, fair and hassle-free polls. Since the district officials and polling parties would be trained further by DLMTs, he said, and stressed the vital role of DLMTs in election management. The performance at ground zero would depend on “how well we train our teams,” he added.
At Namsai, addressing the trainees, DEO Dr Tapasya Raghav stressed on training need of election officials to prevent any mistake in ground level.
In all 138 officers from districts are undergoing the training at Itanagar while 72 officers are attending at Namsai.
The inaugural programme at Itanagar was attended by SNO (SVEEP) Lod Takkar and SNO (training) Ashok Tajo. (DIPRO)
