NAHARLAGUN, Jan 10: One young entrepreneur Nabam Jury Medhi has been making a difference in trade and commerce sector of the state through her perseverance.
With franchise from KC Fabrics & Décor, she had set up her production unit with four employees in Model village here in 2014 to produce various decorative door and window curtains, table cover and marketing across Arunachal Pradesh.
When asked, she admitted that though her business was in small scale but response of customers was good and satisfactory.
However, former Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Techi Lala lauded her efforts and exhorted younger generation to take a cue from her success story. If Jury with only graduation in arts could succeed in professional field every educated but unemployed youth could do it.
Entrepreneurship is the need of the hour to become self-employed and self-reliant, he said and wished here all best for her endeavouors.
It would be worth mentioning here that present state Govt had launched ambitious Deen Dayal Upadhay Sawalamban Yojana (DDUSY) on 04.07.17 with an aim to create self-employment opportunities. It offers loan ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. one crore by bank and the Govt with capital subsidy of 30% to be disbursed to banks through NABARD. It would give the much needed financial support to small and nano entrepreneurs in agriculture, horticulture, dairy development, fishery, textile and handicrafts and eco tourism sectors.
“As the government job sector is already saturated, we need to explore self-employment avenues to help the educated unemployed youths to become self-empowered. The scheme will provide an impetus in this direction,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu had said while launching the scheme.
“Women entrepreneurs will be additionally eligible for 5% interest subsidy annually provided their enterprises do not become non-performing asset,” the notification released online said.
