Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi greetings

ITANAGAR, Feb 13:  Governor Brig. (Retd) B.D. Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have greeted Arunachal Pradesh people, particularly the Singpho community on Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi festival.

Terming the festival as a window to ancient Singpho folklore that help building warm relationship resulting in  social harmony and oneness, the governor in his message, wished: May this festival of rituals and dances strengthen the bond of relationship in the society.

In his message, Khandu said “Ours is a distinct state with several tribes and communities residing side by side for ages and maintaining their own unique indigenous culture and traditions. We Arunachalees are united and take pride in our indigenous cultural heritage. This cultural mosaic has to be maintained, preserved and propagated at all costs despite diversity,” Khandu said in his message and wished a grand celebration in honour of Singphos’ great forefathers.
