SAGALEE, Oct 12: More than 190 people benefited from a free eye screening camp, organized here on Saturday by former chief minister-cum-Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki in collaboration with RK Mission Hospital led by secretary Swami Vishweshananda Maharaj and Sagalee administration to mark World Sight Day. The camp, conducted by two eye specialists, para-medical staff, optical unit and a project manager, also offered free medicines and spectacles in subsidized rate besides conducting an awareness programme on ways to ensure safety of eye vision. However, Mumbai-based Mission for Vision supported the endeavour. Total 21 cataract patients were taken to RKM Hospital for free cataract surgery while 65 spectacles were distributed in presence of Tuki and Swami Vishweshananda.
