By A O News Service

NEW DELHI, Oct 12: Numerous cases of violations of child rights in total contravention of Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 are reported from time to time from various North Eastern states for which National Commission for Protection for Child Rights (NCPCR) has proposed a NE level conference at Itanagar, said its youngest member advocate Rosy Taba.

Representatives of eight NE states will be attending the conference to bring mass awareness on rights of children to ensure their safety, protection and proper education, she told this daily over telephone on Friday.

Considering the magnanimity of the event, the NCPCR would seek collaboration of Arunachal Pradesh Govt for the maiden event, which would be addressed by Nobel Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi for which he has given consent. The venue and date will be finalized soon in consultation with the state Govt, she added.
