DCM advocates strict SOP adherence by all returnees

NAMSAI, May 09: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Food & Civil Supply Minister Kamlung Mosang and MLAs Chau Zingnu Namshoom (Namsai), Karikho Kri (Tezu), Dasanglu Pul (Hayuliang), Liasum Simai (Nampong) & Jummum Ete Deori (Likang) discussed modalities to ensure smooth passage of returning stranded Arunachalees.

A meeting in Mini Secretariat here on Saturday, chaired by DyCM, resolved to strictly adhere to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) guidelines, including institutional quarantine centres (IQCs) as there is neither vaccine nor medicine for COVID-19 for which precaution is the only panacea to contain outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

Dirak gate, the gateway for Anjaw, Lohit, Changlang and Namsai districts, would allow entry of returnees of those districts to be followed by putting them in IQCs of their respective districts, Mein told them including DCs and SPs.

On the modalities, Mosang and said that the GoAP is committed to ensure green zone status of the state and sought cooperation of all returnees at the check gate followed by addresses by all MLAs.

The DCs and SPs also briefed about various IQCs set up to accommodate them and precautionary steps adopted. Earlier, the team visited Dirak check gate to review the preparations.
