MoU signed for development of infrastructures at NCoE 

Itanagar, Oct 28: The State government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Sports Ministry for development of infrastructures at National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) here.

The state’s Sports Department signed MoU with Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Tuesday virtually.

“Arunachalis are naturally good at sports and we wish to make it better. Thank you Union Ministry of Sports for the support to develop National Centre of Excellence in Itanagar that  has facilities for wushu, weightlifting and boxing,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

State Sports Minister Mama Natung in a Tweet wrote, “Attended historic virtual MoU signing between Ministry of YAS & GoAP in august presence of Hon’ble MoS YAS (I/c) @KirenRijiju Ji, Dir General SAI, GoI, Reg Director SAI for a National Centre of Excellence at Itanagar.”

According to the MoU, SAI would develop ‘state-of-the-art’ sports facilities including sports infrastructure, training centres and multi-purpose hall.
