CHF holds camp | 41 animals vaccinated, 30 farmers supported

BOLENG, Feb 19: Total 41 animals, like pig, poultry and cows were vaccinated and 30 famers, of total 70 participants, were given medicines and nutrient supplements during an animal health camp conducted at Boleng in Siang district on Sunday.

Pasighat-based College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF) in collaboration with Digital India Corporation (DIC), conducted the camp under project Arik Abik Lunom (AAL) or Mobile Based Agro-Advisory Services (MBAS).

Imphal-based Central Agricultural University director (research) Prof. L.M. Garnayak, in his inaugural address, enlightened the farmers about provisions of customized information through m4agri mobile app.

Total livestock population of the Siang is 10,741 cattle, 10,767 mithuns, 14,788 pigs, 1,868  goats and 49,788 poultry birds, district animal husbandry, veterinary  & dairy development officer Dr. Anthoni Pertin said  and advocated to hold such camp frequently to benefit the owners.

CHF principal investigator Prof. S.K.Pattanaaik enlisted the benefits gained by state’s agriculture, horticulture, animal and fish farmers through this AAL.Coordinated by AAL co-principal investigator Dr. L.D.Hatai, agro-associate Dr. Kim Jamoh administered vaccines.

“Vaccination of Livestock and Poultry in Arunachal Pradesh”, a technical bulletin, was released to mark the event, attended by ZPM Oyar Muang, according to an official release.
