Man’s body found from drain | Team sent to West Bengal to arrest murder suspect: SDPO

ITANAGAR, Jun 21: The mortal remains of a Bengali youth were discovered under mysterious circumstances near Arunodaya School here and retrieved by Itanagar Police on Thursday evening.

Suspecting it to be a murder case, SDPO Kengo Dirchi, who had visited the spot with a team, told this daily on Friday, that the deceased belonging to West Bengal has been identified as an employee of a local sweet shop.

“The body was found by locals who informed the police. Initial reports suggest that the youth was involved in a quarrel with other staff members of the shop leading to his death. The suspected murderer has been absconding and reportedly left the state”, he said.

A case has been registered, post-mortem was conducted at Naharlagun’s Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) mortuary and thorough investigation launched, the SDPO said, adding that based on evidences gathered a team has been sent to apprehend the suspect.

When pointed out that the case has raised concerns among the masses, he said that law is equal for all and the police are committed to solve the case soon and bring the guilty to book to grant justice to the deceased family.
