BRO earns kudos for dedicated works: ADG

GUWAHATI, May 07: “The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) since its formation in 1960 has been building roads to India’s frontiers, including Pakistan, China, Bhutan and Myanmar to facilitate Army and other security force to move smoothly with heavy vehicles and arms irrespective of weather in the tough terrain,” said its additional director general (ADG, Eastern Zone) Praveen Kumar Hanuman Singh.

Addressing participants of BRO’s 65th foundation day observation in East Zonal headquarters at Lankeswar on Tuesday, Singh lauded all engineers and the personnel for construction of roads, bridges, tunnels and helipads by using latest technologies even below 0°C temperature, reflecting their devotion to the Motherland.

The BRO has also earned goodwill for such works in 19 states of the country and foreign countries, including Bhutan and Afghanistan, he added.

Two BRO East Zone HQs personnel – Kazi Sazibur Rahman, 1628 Pioneer Company and Bhupender Singh, 1604 Pioneer Company, were awarded medals and certificates by the ADG on the occasion. They had received special appreciation letters from BRO Director General for their dedicated and outstanding services on last Republic Day.

The duo was among total 31 workers and soldiers of Projects Vartak, Pushpak, Arunank, Brahmank, Sevak, Swastik, Udayak under East Zone, ESW and R&D to receive DG’s Commendation Card. (PRO)
