CM lauds young artist for developing Arunachal Rising

ITANAGAR, June 21: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today felicitated artist Ogin Nayam for his contributions in developing state souvenir – ‘Arunachal Rising’.

Ogin, a promising young artist of the state had developed the painting to commemorate 30-year Statehood  celebration in February 2017.

The painting in water colour on paper symbolically depicts the ascent of one of India’s youngest states with the flight of the hornbill, being used as of the state souvenir.

The painting shows the Great Hornbill in magnificent flight, and like the state itself, taking off into a glorious future. The Great Pied Hornbill (Buceros bucornis), the state bird, is represented in GoAP emblem.

This painting has also been specially re-crafted into a special edition with finest Swarovski crystals, produced with their patented lead free formula, which was presented to President of India.

Itanagar-based Ogin, one of the emerging young talented faces of Arunachal, primarily works with watercolors and occasionally experiments with different mixed mediums. A self-taught artist, he has developed an eclectic style of painting with a minimalistic approach.

Khandu while appreciating him wished him success in his creative journey. (PRO)
