In quest of record: Rotarian roadie couple in capital

ITANAGAR, Jan 20: The Rotary Clubs of Sunrise Arunachal hosted an interaction programme with “The Great Indian Traveller” Kaustav Ghosh and Ann Laxmi Sorte from Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Sunrise, Rotary International who reached Itanagar on Wednesday in course of their 101-day pan-India road trip.

Arunachal Pradesh is the 18th state they have touched so far after covering more than 10,000 km for 50 days.

The programme was chaired by the president of RCSA, Rajen Nani in presence of Hage Mima, Khoda Gyati and Nani Sha among others. The RCSA president highlighted various activities of the club with the motto “Service above self”, including the signing of an MoU with SCERT, the state Education Department and Rotary India Literacy Mission for providing e-learning facilities amongst the state’s schoolchildren using NCERT curriculum based on audio-visual modules in English medium.

The visiting Rotarians from Navi Mumbai Sunrise highlighted their travel mission powered by I-Support Your Business, exploring and empowering India on wheels.

The Rotarian couple’s 101-day trip is also a campaign to support small and micro businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic across the country, the club stated.

One of their aims is also to enter the Guinness Book of Records and the Rotary Club of Sunrise Arunachal has become one of their leading partners in this venture.
